Happy New Year 2009!!!

As I'm not in France at the moment I haven't been able to make any cards (even though I got mountains of craft stuff for Christmas). I promise when I get back to France I will get cracking on lots of new cards, I need to replenish my stocks as I didn't do all that badly at the Christmas market a few weeks ago!

Anyway, in the meantime I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy & Prosperous New Year! I hope that 2009 is a year to bring lots of happiness, love, luck and good health! Thank you all so very much for all the support and wonderful comments that you leave, I can't tell you how happy I am to have made lots of new friends this year through blogging! Speak to you all in the New Year xxx

Merry Christmas!

Phew!!! The vegetables are peeled and sliced, the turkey is thawing and the presents are under the tree! It's time to relax and get ready for Santa making his rounds and dropping a few surprises down the chimney! It's hard work this Christmas lark, but I'm spending Christmas with my family so I think all the hard work will be worthwhile! Hence the reason I haven't been blogging, or crafting much! I did do a Christmas Market last Saturday in the town where I live, selling my cards to the Frenchies. It was pretty quiet but I was pleased with the overall result! I had some lovely comments too! Anyway, here's a little card that I did for the market...

I just love this little Tilda image, she's so cute! I coloured her with Distress Inks, papers are from Papermania, Sentiment from Woodware. The rest is from my ever increasing stash! I'm gonna enter this card for Cute Card Thursday Challenge as there is an open theme until Jan 8th.

Well, I'd just like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas! Thanks for all your support and comments since I started my blog earlier in the year! Take care and have a great Christmas!

Happy New Year - a bit early!

Happy New Year...that's the challenge over at A Spoonfull of Sugar until tomorrow! I've just gotten this one finished on time! I used my Penny Black stamp "Par Avion", coloured with w/c paints. Paper is a scrap I had left from Dovecraft last year, snowflakes are punched with a Woodware punch. Can't remember what make the sentiment stamp is, one of those bargain ones I think?! Ribbon, buttons from stash...

Thanks for popping by, better get back to the housework (yep I know, but I just can't put it off anymore)...

Congrats to Alexandra - X Factor Winner!

Last night cheered me up! Not feeling too good, loaded with cold but thoroughly enjoyed last night's X Factor final! I have to say I wanted Alex to win, she has an outstanding voice, but can also perform/dance. She definately merited her win! I warmed to JLS in the last few shows, they're good too, and do some pretty smooth harmonies, but Alex just topped it on the "Halleluliah" song for me! I don't usually watch the programme, I didn't see it at all last year, but have to say I got hooked on it this year! Little Oeghan Quigg was a good finalist too, just think he's a tad young to cope with all the pressure? Anyway, it was pretty entertaining for Saturday night telly!

Penny Black Recipe!

This kind of recipe works a treat! Penny Black Saturday Challenge this week has come up with a super recipe: Three flowers, two papers, one ribbon. I used my "Meeting Sheltie" stamp, which I've never used yet, don't know why as I think the pony is just so cute! It's a big card (A5), I don't do many of these so thought as the stamp was a big 'un I'd give it a go...

Papers are from Papermania (I've had these for ages), stamped image is coloured with w/c pencils, felt flowers from stash and added buttons, also attached other flower using Crop-a-dile. Hello stamp is from my stash, as is ribbon etc.

I enjoyed using this image so I did another card, very similar but with a different colour scheme...

So there's my latest creations, don't think I'm gonna have much time to do cards in the next week as work is hectic, my parents are coming to stay, and the obvious of course...Christmas is coming!

Sweet Heart!

A quick little card for Cute Card Thursday, the theme is "Hearts". I've done a baby girl card; image is Sugar Nellie (coloured with brush markers and blended), paper is Papermania Nostalgia Warm Collection, embossed Cuttlebug hearts, brown/pink ribbon is from Bazzil Basics, prima flower, gems and button from stash.

Anything but a Christmas card!

As I'm not too much in the Christmas spirit at the moment, I thought I'd do a few non-festive cards using the sketch from this week's Penny Black Saturday Challenge (considering I got mixed up and did a Sugar Nellie card with it the other day). I've kind of adapted the sketch by rotating it. I've used PB Stickeroo's on both cards, paper on frog card is one of the first I bought (Clover I think the company is called), the hegehog card has Papermania DP on it. Little flowers punched using Woodware punches (from my visit to The Glitter Pot). Rest is stash!

Maybe I'll be feeling a bit more festive later in the week? Hope so!

Not been the best blogger lately...Mmm!

Ok, I'm gonna apologise for my lack of enthusiasm lately. I don't know what it is but I just can't get into the blogging at the minute. Time is pretty short what with Christmas looming etc, and the weather is freezing cold, the days are short...so maybe I have that illness, Seasonal Affective Disorder is it? Or maybe it's just that I can't be bothered with much at the mo! Even my crafting has slowed down (shock, horror)!! Yesterday I spent all day wrapping presents; I usually like doing it but I just found it to be a chore! Bah, humbug! I'm supposed to be doing my Christmas tree later, but I just don't know if I can be harrassed! What a miserable cow I am! So no surprise that my blogging has slipped too!

On a brighter note, I have done a couple of cards. The first was for my MIL's birthday last Friday...

The image is Sugar Nellie, coloured with w/c paints. Rest is from my stash.

The second card was meant to be for a challenge, but I'm so away with the mixer this week I used the sketch from Penny Black Saturday Challenge, with a Sugar Nellie stamp! Never mind, I'll have to do another card with a Penny Black stamp this time! I do like this little fisherman though!

I'm off to make a cuppa now, see if it'll give me some inspiration (I'll need more than a cuppa)...and maybe, just maybe I'll put my Christmas tree up! Take care, and thanks for listening to my moaning lol!

Happy Birthday Mam!

Today is my Mam's birthday! Unfortunately I can't be with her on her Special Day as we have a few miles between us (and the English Channel) so I've sent her a little card to say I'm thinking about her! I think I can safely show you the card, as she should have opened it by now! Inside there's a lovely verse, I hope she likes it!

If you're reading this Mam, just hope you know how special you are to me! Make sure you have a lovely, relaxing day!

Sketch Saturday

A couple of quick cards I did using the sketch from Sketch Saturday. I used Dovecraft papers, including the image. Really quick! Not my usual type of card but I'm doing a Xmas Market in a few weeks time so need lots of cards in a hurry! Added a bit of glitter for that extra bling factor!

I've been busy!

Yey, I've had some crafting time at last! This weekend I managed to get a few cards done, some of which fitted in with challenges on the go this week. The first one is for a Spoonfull of Sugar challenge, which is a fab sketch by MichelleO. I've based my card on the sketch but turned it around. The images are from Elzybells (I think - they were a RAK from Tracy, thanks), just perfect for a chilly card! The sentiment is from a Dovecraft stamp, DP from Doodlebug, I love this paper!

This next card is for Friday Sketchers challenge, a nice easy sketch this week! The image is "Royal Mail" by Penny Black, coloured with w/c paints. I've added glitter to the snow. DP is again from Doodlebug, and I've added a little bell to embellish.

Finally I made a card for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge, where the theme this week is "No Patterned Paper". The PB stamp I used is called "Par Avion", and the sentiment stamp is from Oogaloo. I used my Cuttlebug Snowflakes Embossing folder, and my new snowflake punch!

Tomorrow I hope to have more time to catch up on some blogging, a few people have left me things on their blogs (Thank you) so I'll hopefully get around to putting these on my blog! Thanks for popping by xx

Purrfect Christmas

Just a quick little card I made to try out my new nestabilities! First set I've got, they're a bit pricy when you buy both sets (one to fit inside other) but they do make a nice job of cutting out! Think I'll be doing a few more my new nesties! The card is lilac in colour but hard to see on photo. The image is a RAK so can't tell you much about it, dp is a scrap I had left from last year. The snowflakes are punched using my new punch, glitter card I used was also a bit of scrap. Sentiment done on my PC. The card fitted in with this week's Cute Card Thursday Challenge, which is "Lilac"...

New Goodies!!!

I just wanted to share this piccy off all my new goodies with you! This was what I spent all my pennies on in The Glitter Pot!

Unfortunately I haven't had time to do any crafting since I got back from my shopping trip to the UK, I promise to get on and do some cards over the weekend! I'll be starting to get withdrawl symptoms soon lol! I just haven't had a chance with work an' all, and even if I have had a bit of free time I've just been too exhausted to do anything but slouch in front of the TV!
I did however do a little project a couple of weeks ago which I haven't shared with you yet; I made a box of cards for my friend's birthday. Check out the piccy below...

I wanted also to say thanks to all of the people who visit my blog and leave lovely, kind comments. I really appreciate all the words of encouragement you leave for me. Thanks a lot!!!

I'm back! Happy but Pennyless!!!

Just a quick note to say I had a fab weekend! I haven't had much time to do anything with the blog or crafting since I got back but I will be back later in the week with some more news and cards. I have to say that The Glitter Pot was FAB!!! A small shop but PACKED with stamps etc, it was overwhelming! I could have spent a fortune in there (I spent a small fortune), what a great selection of stuff for cardmakers/scrapbookers! I also got all my Christmas shopping in whilst back in the UK! Overall a great weekend, shame it passed so quickly!

Back soon, take care xx

Just to say I've just booked to go over on the ferry to the uk, yipee! I'm staying the weekend so will get a bit of shopping done for Xmas hopefully! I've even got a trip to The Glitter Pot planned so looking forward to that! I'll be back beginning of next week to let you know how much I spend lol! Have a fab weekend x

One of those days!

Ok I did the early shift at work this morning and when I came back around 9am (I get a break in between shifts) I parked my car, as usual outside my house. I was thinking about making myself a nice cuppa and hadn't even had the time to get out of the car when I heard ***BANG*** as a huge lorry went past, taking my wing mirror with it!!! One of the side doors on the lorry's trailer hadn't been shut properly and was swinging around as the driver was happily driving along. Just as well I was still in the car as it might have been my head that got whipped off! Anyway, the driver had to stop 'cos of the door, so we exchanged details and his company is footing the bill (I'm bl**dy sure 'cos didn't fancy paying the 100 euros for a wing mirror). I'm just glad it was the car and not me that got bashed! Then after that I went back to work and lets just say it wasn't the best day! Roll on the weekend!

On a nicer note I thought I'd share my latest card with you. Yesterday was my friend's birthday, so here's the little card I made for her! I've used the sketch by Donna on the Magnolia vs Stampavie challenge blog. The Tilda image was kindly sent to me as a RAK, isn't she cute?! She's coloured with Distress inks and w/c pencils.

I've took a couple of detail pics too, so you can see a bit closer up, I love the sentiment (a rub-on from Papermania), it says it all! The grosgrain ribbon is from Poppicrafts, the little gems, lace, heart charm and safety pin are from my stash. The paper is from Clover, I've had this in my stash for ages!

Thanks for looking, hope you had a better day than me xx

Fabulous at 40 !!!

Just made this card for my friend who's 40! It took me ages, whoa! Don't know why but I seemed to have been on with this for a while! Out of interest, how long does it take you to do a card? The sketch is from Mumur at Friday Sketchers, it's a great sketch, a bit more complicated than I usually do! Probably why it took me so long?! The image is coloured with shimmer paints, the papers are printed from a CD, Pink Petticoat (I haven't used these for a while). I've added the ribbon, buttons and gems for bling! Also used Cuttlebug embossing folders, sentiment was printed on laptop! I'm not sur if it's missing something on the left side, but haven't added anything as couldn't decide!

Thanks for looking xx

A Child's Card!

This quick little card is for the Spoonful of Sugar Challenge which is to do a Child's card. Image is from Sugar Nellie, brads from Poppicrafts, Balloon is a button from my stash with string added.

Red & Green

Hi again! Over at Cute Card Thursday this week the challenge is super easy (seeing as I'm making Xmas cards at the mo!); you have to use the colours red and green on your card! Well, seeing as I'm on that colour scheme for my Christmas cards I thought I'd show you two little ones I've done this week. The first is with an image I got through a swap (thanks!) and the second is a Sugar Nellie image I bought a while ago. On both cards I used Dovecraft papers, and all the embellies are from my stash. I also used the Cuttlebug Snowflakes Embossing Folder. I did the sentiments on my computer as don't have any Christmas "French" sentiment stamps, it reads "Best Wishes"! (If anyone has any and would be happy to stamp me some in exchange for something else that'd be great, thanks) I'm trying to get a stock of cards ready for a Christmas Market I'm doing in December, and seeing as they speak french over here I thought I'd better do some "French" cards too, logical you might say!

Thanks for popping by, have a lovely weekend!

Sketch Saturday

Hiya! Just a quick post as I've done a card for the fab sketch on Sketch Saturday this week! First time I've done a card for this challenge, but as I like sketches thought I'd give it a go! I've gone for a Christmas theme as can't do enough cards for Christmas, it's done using one of my cute Tilda images. Again Distress Inks to colour, Dovecraft DP, snowflakes were from a local euro shop (like pound shop only euro lol) on a long string which I cut off! What you have to do when you live in the middle of nowhere with few shops! Sentiment is a sticker I had leftover from last year, Papermania. Rest is from stash!

Be back later in the week, bye for now x

Papertake Weekly Challenge

I had the urge to make a card (now there's a surprise), so I found this week's sketch on Papertake Weekly Challenge which is by Dawny, and here is my take on this fab sketch...

I just got the little wooden flowers (bottom left of card) today and had to use them so this kinda gave me a starting point. The image is a cutie Tilda from Magnolia, I love these stamps but they're gonna ruin me (well it's been my o/h that's buying them), so I'll have to make a zillion cards to justify all the recent purchases!

I also used:
- Tilda stamp of course
- Distress Inks (I love the colours and effects they give)
- DP Papermania Nostalgia Warm Collection
- Bazzil Card (Rust)
- Sentiment was improvised with a stamp and sticker
- Buttons from stash

Thanks for visiting ;o)

Cool Blues for Christmas

Back in September I won some scrapbooking paper on Friday Sketchers, and after a long wait it finally arrived from a Norwegian company called 3ndypapir. All I can say is it was worth the wait! The paper is gorgeous and really good quality, double-sided and very thick too! So I just had to use one of the winter designs to make a little card (it was a shame to cut it, it's so nice) for this week's Penny Black Saturday Challenge. The challenge was a bit tricky for me as you can only use a Penny Black sentiment, and I don't have many (I have 2 to be precise)! So I went for a Christmas theme...

I used:
- Sentiment from Penny Black Holly Day Critters clear set
- Paper from 3ndypapir.no
- Ribbon, snowflakes, gems from stash

The second blue card I made is for Cute Card Thursday, where the brief is Angels and Fairies. I didn't want to do a Tilda card, I thought a change was in order so I dug deep and found some See D's Christmas stamps to do this card. It's been a while since I used these stamps...

I used:
- See D's Magical Christmas Set (for the background, angel and sentiment)
- Angel Hair (you can just see behind the background)
- Glitter glue on angel
- Rest from stash

I've put ribbon on both cards, I was in a ribbon and blues mood last night!
