Summertime

Hello everyone!

Well, it's seems as though Summer has finally arrived here, yesterday it was 32°c... although I have to say that was a little too hot for me!

Today see's the start of a new challenge at Di's Digi Designs Challenge, and this fortnight  our theme is "SUMMERTIME". I've gone with warm colours and lush green for my card. I've kept it fairly simple to place more emphasis on the image, which is called "Do you like strawberries?" and can be found at Di's Digi Downloads. Cute huh?! Now, my Cupcake teamie Delphine is absolutely the bee's knees at colouring, and she has a great cloud tutorial on her blog, which I followed (thanks Delphine).. Although Delphine uses Copics (sadly I don't know what these are like as have Promarkers myself), I've attempted the tutorial using my Promarkers... what do you think of my effort?

We are sponsord by Digi Darla Designs this fortnight who will be giving a prize to the lucky random winner, and also Di will be giving away some of her digi stamps to the lucky person who has used one of her images. Pop over to the challenge blog to see all the details, and also have a look at all the fabulous cards my DT team mates have created!

Enjoy your weekend! Thanks for popping by!

Birds of a Feather

Hi everyone! Are you all sick of this wet weather yet? It seems to be going on FOREVER! About time the sun decided to show up!

Speaking of sunshine, we have a new challenge at Cupcake Craft Challenge, chosen by our lovely Sari Sunshine! Sari has chosen 'BIRDS OF A FEATHER' as the theme... easy really, you have to include a bird/birds on your project!

I've gone for a very girly, floral design for my card... and no colouring... the image is a pre-coloured topper from Crafty Secrets. I've added lots of flowers to try to rekindle the summer blooms that are being spoilt in my garden by the rain! The ones on my card are from Wild Orchid Crafts, and the pretty little bird is from Prima.

Crafty Emma has kindly personally donated a surprise paper pad for this week's winner! So if you like our feathered friends, then why not join in? Take a peek at the other inspiring projects from my Cupcake buddies, and if you have time leave a little comment... we love to hear from you!

After the Rain...

...came the rainbow!
Hi all! Yep the other day there was a lovely rainbow, but by the time I got my camera it'd gone! So instead I made this little card... it's very CAS for me... but I just love the cute Pollycraft image! So bright and cheerful! I've also added a little button sun in the corner! Now however it's RAINING... AGAIN!!! In fact it's rained so much in the last few weeks I was thinking of pulling all my tomato plants out of my garden and sowing rice instead!

Well, that's it... just wanted to share the rainbow... hope the sun shines for you all this weekend!

Dark Skies Overhead

Hello! What is happening with the weather this year? Are you familiar with the dark, moody skies overhead? We have had some major rain in the last two weeks, I have NEVER seen France this green! I have to say I love the rain, sometimes! Although I do feel sorry for all those who have been affected by flooding... not good!

Well, the weather has inspired my little card today... and with such a cute Pollycraft image who could resist? I don't think this will be the only card I make with this cutie! It's a shame Pollycraft has closed... but I did manage to get a few last minute bargains. And I just love these papers, shame on me for not using them sooner! They're from Stampin' Up... last year's collection I think. The colours are just perfect !

Thanks for popping by... I shall catch up with you all later!

Red, White & Blue at Cupcake

Good morning! Well, I have to say that we are having a very "English" summer here in France (it's raining lots)... so much so that cutting the lawn has now become one of my favourite hobbies (well hubby's really but I did cut it once the other week)! I'm not used to seeing green grass... we usually have a straw coloured lawn!

Anyway, enough waffle... this week at Cupcake Craft Challenge Donna has chosen RED, WHITE & BLUE as our theme! Well, as you know, I'm a bit partial to those colours in a flag form (see last post)... so I've decided to go with a very British design! The flags are stamped in two steps (the blue then the red seperately) to form a background paper, then I simply stamped the crown image, layered it and added some gems... and there you have it!

We have two sponsors this week, In 2 Stamps are giving away a €10 gift voucher, and Prairie Fairy are giving away a $10 gift certificate! So pop by the Cupcake blog to get some ideas from my fellow DT buddies, and join us for the challenge!

Thanks for your visit today!

Rose Garden

Hello again peeps! Hope you're all having a lovely weekend! This is my second post for the day! I don't have a card to share with you in this post, my DT card for Di's Digi Designs Challenge is below, but I do have something pretty on the eye.

I was walking in my garden this afternoon and thought how beautiful my roses are this year! Usually they get eaten by greenfly and the likes, but this year we don't seem to be as infested with the little pests, maybe due to all the cute ladybirds we have?!

Anyway, I took some photos of a few of the roses for you to see, hope you like them! The one on the left is one that was in the garden before we arrived... it reminds me of rasberry ripple ice cream ;)
It's been a while since I took some proper photos, it's usually just cards I photograph these days! Shame really, as I used to take pictures everyday. I love photography, but seem to have lost the keeness I used to have. Note to self: must make friends with my camera again!

This yellow rose is a true english rose... and it smells delicious! Wish you had smellivision ;) It's really tall, and is covered in roses at the moment... there's so many the stems are bowing under the weight of the blooms!
Peek-a-boo! Finally I've chosen to share this beauty... she's just hiding under a little leaf... but with a bold colour like that she'll not be able to hide for much longer!

I just loved the way the bud was just opening out... really pretty and scented too!

Well, that's it from me... hope you enjoyed your virtual tour of my rose garden!

Have a great Jubilee Bank Holiday! Shelly x

Here Fishy Fishy...

We're looking for MALE THEMED creations over at Di's Digi Designs Challenge this fortnight.

I've used this cute fishing digi stamp called Fish Ahoy from Di's Digi Downloads. The card's been sent to my nephew for his birthday as he loves fishing! As the image is quite big I've kept the embellishments to a minimum. I still need to work on my colouring for the water, but it's ok. The colours on the card are warmer in real life, but my camera decided to change that. Even the photo editing software couldn't right it! Never mind.

Anyway, we're sponsored by Michelle's Scrapbooking, who is kindly giving away a $10 voucher to the lucky random winner! Pop by the challenge blog for more details and to see all the other lovely Design Team creations!

Enjoy the Jubliee Bank Holiday weekend!
