It's been just gorjuss!

Hello peeps! What a scorcher it's been again today, shame I've been at work all day :( Oh well, I'm off this weekend so looking forward to that! I've made a little card inspired by all the sun we've been having lately...

I've used a little 'Gorjuss Girl' from Sugar Nellie... it's ages since I've coloured one of these little ladies. I've coloured her with Promarkers then cut her out and mounted her onto a frame cut using Nestabilities, the (green) papers are from The Creative Cottage 'Bella Ballerina' digi kit, border is cut using a Marth Stewart Doily Lace punch. I also used my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder, added ribbon, pearls and a flower to finish!

I made this card with the following challenges in mind...Totally Gorjuss would like you to use a Gorjuss Girl on your card, Lili of the Valley have a 'Here Comes Summer' theme (I think these colours and flower are really summery) and finally A Spoon Full of Sugar want to see some 3D!

Well that's all for tonight, time is getting on so off to beddy byes for me! I hope to get a bit blog hopping done this weekend, thanks for all your lovely comments of late... much appreciated!!!

The Creative Cottage Challenge #8 Circles

Good afternoon! Well it's a gorgeous day here (sunny and 26°) and I've just finished work so have the rest of the afternoon to myself hooray! I really need to do some housework but think that might have to wait, at least until later anyway!

Today I have another round card to share which is my DT card for The Creative Cottage 'Circles' challenge! We'd like to see you using circles on your projects this week... I have to admit this is becoming a bit of a trend for me (see my last post). I've used the 'Birthday Wishes' digi kit from The Creative Cottage for my card (image & papers), as well as a circular sentiment (Cuddly Buddly) and some round buttons. Finally I've used some little pearls to add detail to the cake. The little bear is called Sherbet, isn't he a cutie! I'm entering my card for the challenge at Simon Says Stamp, it's 'buttons, bows & bling'.

This week we have a great digi kit for one lucky random winner, the new 'Baby Ellie & Family' kit which is so cute! Remember you don't have to use Creative Cottage products but if you do we'd love to see them. Pop over to the blog to see the other DT cards, the girls have come up with some lovely projects!

Cupcake Craft Challenge #88 Don't Be Square

Good morning! Today over at Cupcake this week we have a fab challenge for you... 'Don't be Square'... you can't make a square card for the challenge! So if you're like me and do LOTS of square cards then this'll take you a little out of your comfort zone! Here's my DT card, no squares in sight...

The Design Team were very fortunate this week to be given a digi stamp of their choice from our super sponsor The Stamping Boutique', I chose this gorgeous mermaid which I printed out quite large and used as the basis of my round card. I've coloured with Promarkers and added a little sparkle. Finally some wool fibres and a pin detail added the finishing touches to my card. It was fairly simple to make, although the blending of the blues to get the sea colour took a little while. Worth it though I think!

I'm entering my card for the challenge over at ABC Challenge 'S is for Sparkle' , the 'Make A Splash' challenge at Quixotic and also By The Cute & Girly 'Fairytales' challenge (mine's The little mermaid) and finally Stampin' for the Weekend 'Getting to know you' challenge where we have to use a book for inspiration (again 'The Little Mermaid').

The winner of this challenge will receive either 5 digi stamps or 3 rubber stamps from 'The Stamping Boutique'... they're all fabulous so lots to choose from! Pop over to the Cupcake Craft Challenge to see all the details and the other wonderful DT projects!

My card is based on the fab sketch by the very talented Bev for the Lili of the Valley Challenge. I've used a Lili of the Valley stamp (me and my cat) coloured with Promarkers. The little sentiment is a Kraftin Kimmie one. My diamond paper is from the new 'Baby Ellie & Family' digi kit from The Creative Cottage.

The Creative Cottage Challenge #7 Going Green

Good evening! Firstly apologies for the lateness of my post... it should have appeared this morning but silly me forgot to schedule it! I've just come in from a 12 hour shift at work and realised I hadn't posted my DT card for this week's Creative Cottage Challenge, so without further ado, here it is...

Our challenge this week is 'Going Green'... which can be interpreted in several ways. You can use the colour green like me (ok I took the easy option) or you could try using something recycled on your card. If you're really clever you could do both! I've used The Creative Cottage 'Bella Ballerina' digi kit for my card (papers and image), the little sentiment stamp and ribbon are from Artemio (the stamp and ribbon are in French and mean 'smile... life is beautiful). I've also added some green eyelets and beads from Quixotic Paperie.

This week there's a prize for one lucky random winner... a really cute animal kit 'Forest Friends'... couldn't be much greener lol! So why not pop over to the blog and see the other girls' cards for a bit of inspiration! Hope you can join us this week!

Cupcake Craft Challenge #87 Red & White

Hello blogging friends! Today at Cupcake Craft Challenge we have a colour combo for you and as it's St George's Day this week guess what the colours are - yup Red & White! I have to confess I cheated a little as I did use a bit of blue too in my DT card, I hope I'm forgiven! You can make any type of card, layout, box etc but you must use Red & White! It'd be lovely to see some patriotic projects, but anything goes really! My card was for my nephew's birthday... he's a Liverpool fan (a geordie one at that... shame on him)! I've used stamps from 'It's a Mans World' stamp set from Papermania, coloured with Promarkers and decoupaged a little to give dimension, and the yummy papers are from The Creative Cottage.
I'm entering my card for the Fab 'n Funky challenge which is to 'use a neglected stamp' I have to say all my male stamps are neglected and also the Stamp Something challenge which is 'Something Layered'... I've layered the papers, ribbon and parts of the footballer.

We have a fab sponsor for our challenge this week, KLM Digi Stamps, who are offering 3 digi images to one lucky random winner! On top of that the other DT girls have really stepped up to the mark this week with some super projects... all so very different but all stunning... I think I'm getting to really like this colour combo... and not just for Christmas cards! I hope you can join us this week, and don't forget St George's Day on Friday 23rd April!

The Creative Cottage Challenge #6 - Things with Wings

Good morning! It's time for another Creative Cottage Challenge and this week we'd like to see 'things with wings' on your projects! Here's my DT card to help inspire you a little...

I've used the 'Fairy Wishes' digi kit for my card... I love these vibrant colours! My flowers and butterfly were handmade... I'm quite pleased how they turned out. I've added a few pearls, charm and gems to give it a bit of bling et voila! I'm entering my card in the Dare U 2 Digi Stamp Challenge which is 'metal' (my little mushroom charm) and the Quixotic Challenge 'Heavy Metal' (my charm was bought from Quixotic).

This month at The Creative Cottage we have a 'fairy' nice freebie for you... why not pop over and grab yourself one and join us in this week's challenge?! The other DT girls have done some lovely cards to help with ideas, go and see for yourself!

Cupcake Craft Challenge #86

Hello hello! Sorry I've not been around for a bit... I hope to get back with you all very soon. In the meantime there's a new challenge over at Cupcake Craft Challenges today, the lovely Catherine has chosen the theme this week which is 'Childhood Memories'. What a great theme... I just loved making this card Catherine... it took me back to when I was a little girl...

Catherine would like you to create a card or project that reminds you of your childhood...it doesn't necessarily have to be your own childhood...it could be a family member...for example...your children...parents...a sibling or even your best childhood friend! My card is very 'ME' when I was little, always asking "can we go and see the horses..." it used to drive my dad and grandad round the bend!

I've used a new Lili of the Valley stamp... 'me and my horse'... I just love this image! I've coloured with Promarkers, paper is MME Bloom and Grow' and the embellies are from my stash. I'm entering my card into the challenge over at Stampin' for the Weekend which is 'Ribbons & Bows'.

Our sponsor this week is Digital Delights who are giving away a $10 goft certificate to one lucky winner! Why not pop by the Cupcake blog to check out the other DT cards, the girls have done some real cuties this week!

Thanks for popping by today! Hope you can join us for the challenge ;)

The Creative Cottage Challenge #5 'Buttons & Bows'

Drip, drip, drip little April showers la la la la la la la la la lahhhhh... sorry I couldn't resist! Today's the fifth challenge at The Creative Cottage Challenge Blog and we'd like to see your 'Buttons & Bows'. Here's my DT card using the 'Come Rain or Shine' digi kit...

The papers and image are from this super kit, doesn't Sherbet look really cute with his wellies! I've added buttons to his raincoat and also around the border, and my bow is actually a knot (Doodlebug ribbon) but hey, lets not split hairs! The sentiment is from Penny Black... I thought it went well with the theme. Finally I've used a bit of gloss on his wellies and rainbow! Why not pop over to the blog and see all the other lovely creations the DT girls have come up with... have a go and you could be the lucky winner of this week's Creative Cottage Prize!

Don't let the showers get you down, the sun is just around the corner!

Cupcake Craft Challenge - Make your own flowers!

Hi everyone! Firstly I have to say that my posts this week are scheduled as I'm away for a little while and so won't be doing any blogging, crafting etc this week... so I'm being good and typing my DT posts in advance and scheduling them. So you will be reading this post on Easter Monday, I hope you're all making the most of the long weekend... well for those of you fortunate enough to get one!

There's a new challenge over at Cupcake Craft Challenges... the theme was chosen by the lovely Victoria who would like us to 'Make our own flowers'. As you can see from my DT card above, I've done this really simply by stamping the flowers, colouring, cutting out and adding a touch of sparkle! You can be more elaborate should you wish... there's loads of ways to do your own flowers. I've used a Slapstick stamp from Penny Black as my main image, coloured with Promarkers. If you pop over to the Cupcake blog you can see the lovely examples made by the rest of the DT girls. Our challenge is sponsored by Simon Says Stamp, who will be offering a prize to one lucky winner! Hope you can join in the challenge... Good Luck!

A Little Box

Hello... my mojo is slowly returning, although it's taking me every effort to craft at the moment. I wanted to make something for my mam, I'll be seeing her shortly and wanted to give her something handmade... so I've made her this little box...

The box is 6x6 inches which I will be filling with handmade cards. I got the box idea from the Magnolia Ink Magazine (2nd issue), there's a really easy step by step tutorial by Kim to follow, so I thought I'd have a go. I've followed the sketch over at Just Magnolia challenge. Here is a close up of the image I've used, I've coloured Tilda with Promarkers...

I also wanted to put some pretty flowers on the box to fit in with the sketch, and also some lace around the edge. I've added glitter to the flowers... I bought this glitter AGES ago... it's Craft Planet Glitter Glue 'iridescent sparkle' and it just lasts forever! The little flowers were really cheap, 99p I think for a pack.

The card I used to make the box is Papermania 12x12 textured card, the paper is Papermania Regency A4 pack (distressed with Tim Holtz Distress Inks) , the swirl stamp is Inkadinkado and the sentiment is from Paper Make Up stamps. Finally I've added some raffia, velvet ribbon and a few pearls.
I shall also enter this in the Colour Create challenge 'Your choice of Pastels', Simon Says Stamp challenge 'It's so distressing' and the Passion For Promarkers challenge 'Use two images' - Tilda and the swirls.

Thanks so much for popping by today, have a lovely weekend and a Happy Easter!
