Magnolia Mother's Day

In France, Mother's Day is in June this year, so for my MIL's card I decided to use the lovely sketch by Naoual from the Just Magnolia challenge blog...

I have added glitter to her wings and around the hearts, and gold in her hair although it's difficult to see from the photo...

Tilda is stamped in Versafine and coloured using Distress Inks. The paper (which we can see very little of) is from a K & Co pad and has "Mother" written on it in different ways. The sentiment stamp is from Artemio and reads "from the bottom of the heart". All other embellishments are from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by!

In your thoughts

Good morning and hello to all my blogging friends! I have two cards to share with you today, both with a "Thinking of You" theme. The first one is for this week's Just Magnolia challenge "In Stitches" where you have to include stitching, faux or real on your card...

The stitching around the edge is real and took ages to do, and Tilda also has some stitching on her dress. You can see better here...

I've also tried my hand at decorating the inside of the card, not sure about this one, but there is some stitching (faux) on the square message panel and also on the cherries, although it's hard to see from the pic...

Tilda has been watercoloured with brush markers, papers are Doodlebug, sentiment is Penny Black and charms etc are from The Hobby House.

My second card today is also a thinking of you card, although less cheerful. It's for my friend who has recently lost a relative. I'm not good at sympathy cards, but thought this would be ok...

Tilda is coloured with w/c paints, sentiment is Cuddly Buddly, papers are Basic Grey Sugared and ribbon is Doodlebug.

Well, no sunshine here today, hope Mr Sun comes back for the weekend as I've got the full weekend free, no WORK! I'm hoping to get lots of crafting done, and also prepare my blog candy.

Thanks ever so much for popping by, I know how time is scarce so I really appreciate it all your nice comments!

Just Magnolia & Penny Black Challenges

Hi everyone! Just a quick post tonight as off to bed, promise I won't go on! Just thought I'd better post my card for the Just Magnolia Challenge, a fab sketch from Bev this week! As usual at the moment, it's last minute for me yet again...

I must apologise for the awful photo, but I have to blame the camera and rubbish lighting...nothing to do with me of course! Tilda is coloured with Distress Inks, papers are Papermania Creative Tones Venetian Skies, buttons are from my hubby's shirt (well it was getting thrown out so I couldn't waste the buttons), wool from stash. I shall put a sentiment on it at a later date.

The second card is for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge, where you have to use 3 shapes on your card. Well I think I have safely covered that what with the Nesties, die-cuts, buttons etc...

Image is of course Penny Black, paper is DCWV, die-cuts are Sissix, sentiment Cuddly Buddly, rest is from stash.

Hope to get time to do a bit of blog hopping soon! Almost the weekend, hope you have a great one.

Just Magnolia

This is the last posting I'll make until next week as I'm off on my hols tomorrow - yipee! I'm going to go and pack my case, the job that always takes me an age to do! I never know what to pack, and end up going round in circles lol! Well, if I forget something I'll just have to buy a replacement, shame!

This is the card I've made for the new challenge blog Just Magnolia, as I have lots of these stamps which seem to have been neglected recently with the purchase of new stamps (my hubby has become my buyer for stamps, I think he has a secret addiction to buying on the internet lol). This week the challenge is a fab sketch, and as it's the first week of the challenge there is a super prize on offer. If you haven't been already, pop over and check it out!

I've used Tilda wearing dungarees, coloured with Whispers markers. The papers are from Daisy & Dandelion "Pumpkin Patch". Sentiment is Cuddly Buddly, rest is from stash.

Well off now to do the mammoth task of packing my case! Wish me luck!

Thank You Very Much!

Firstly I'd like to thank everyone who has left such lovely comments on my blog regarding my recent loss. It's heart warming to know I have some lovely blogging friends out there in cyber space! I've decided to make a memory book (idea from my friend Shannon, thanks hun) with all the beautiful photos I have of Pepsi. It's a bit too soon just yet, I'll wait a few weeks before I start collecting my photos together.

Secondly, I have just made the worst chocolate cake ever! I'm usually ok with baking, I don't do much but when I do things tend to turn out ok. But for some reason unknown to man (or woman) my choccy cake looks like a frisbee! I wanted to surprise my hubby when he came in tonight, shock will be more his reaction when he sees the "cake"! Never mind, it's the thought that counts. And yes, I did use self raising flour!

Thirdly, I promise I'm nearly at the end now lol! I've made a card for my MIL whose "FĂȘte" it is tomorrow (Saint Huguette). I've combined two challenges, this week's Cute Card Thursday Challenge which is to make a card for someone in your family, and I've used the fab sketch from Friday Sketchers...

I used:

-Tilda in Cherry Dress image coloured with Distress Inks
-Sentiment stamp by Artemio
-Papers are Papermania Creative Tones
-Bazzil card run through Nesties Circles & Swiss Dots folder on Cuttlebug
-Flower is Papermania
-Ribbon etc from stash

The photo isn't great as my camera is on the blink so have used a different one, also the sun was shining through the window (it's lovely to see the sun). I think my MIL will appreciate it though.

Lastly I'd like to thank Tracy for passing on this fab award to me, thanks so much for thinking of me hun! If you don't know Tracy's blog (where have you been hiding), pop over and say hi to her, she will be so pleased you popped by! Plus congratulations Tracy on your blog's first birthday! Now I have to pass this on so I'd like to pass it onto all the lovely blogging friends who've left kind comments recently, I really do appreciate your support! Thank you all so very much!

Well, better go and see if I can rescue something out of my flying saucer... ooops... I mean cake lol!!!

Mother's Day

Do you ever get one of those days when you've just finished work and all you want to do is put your feet up but unfortunately there's a pile of washing, ironing, not to mention an inch thick layer of dust to clean (I'm exaggerating a bit with the dust, there's only half an inch lol)!!! Well that's me today! So before I get started on the dreaded inevitable I thought I'd share this little card with you all. It's for my mam, for Mother's Day on Sunday (I really hope you don't look at my blog mam or you'll see this before time). The card is for the Magnolia Vs Stampavie challenge which is "Mother's Day"...

I used DCWV papers, Tilda is coloured with brush markers, the sentiment stamp is from Penny Black. I did the lace border using my Fiskars punch, and the rest is from my stash. I love the pink and green together, this colour scheme came from the paper, it's just lovely for spring, reminds me of pink tulips with their green foliage! I've also put a special verse inside for my mam, hope she likes it!

Special Treasures!

Everything in my craftroom is a special treasure to me, but my favs are my stamps (of course), ribbons, buttons and flowers (I love it all really). So I used all four on this card which is for the Magnolia vs Stampavie Challenge this week. You have to use the following colours...

I used my "Tilda with heart cookies" stamp from Magnolia, coloured again with Distress Inks. The sentiment is a stamp called "...special treasures" from Penny Black. The papers are from the Nostalgia Collection from Papermania, and I used blue Bazzil card. The swirls are stamped using Inkadinkadoo clear stamps, and the rest of the "treasures" are from my stash! Inside the card I stamped a little verse, one which I bought from Elzybells, and added a little flower and button to finish it off.

Well, off to make me something yummy to eat, just got back from work so I'm starving! Hope you all have a great Friday night (in or out)!

The dreaded lurgy - AGAIN!

What is it with this time of year and illnesses! Everyone seems to be coughing, sneezing, or ill with a stomach bug! Well in my case it's the later, yep I spent my day off today in bed trying to catch up on sleep and get myself pulled together after a hairy night shared with a bucket! I just can't seem to shake the bug off, considering it's the second time in three weeks since I've been like this! So I have to admit due to my state and having felt very sorry for myself today I haven't even had the energy to make anything! I did make this little card a few days ago, which is quite fitting for this post! It's also for the Cute Card Thursday Challenge, which is to "create a scene"...

I used:
* Magnolia Pond Background Stamp
* Get Well Tilda Stamp
* Sentiment Stamp from Woodware
* Distress Inks to colour
* Flower Punches from Woodware
* Gems from stash

Tilda and her bench are both cut out and decoupaged onto the card, but as I haven't took a photo from the side you can't see the raised effect.

Thanks all so much for the lovely comments you've left on my blog recently, they really cheered me up tonight! Hope I'll be feeling better tomorrow to get a bit of crafting in. Take care, and watch out for the dreaded lurgy lol!

This is why I needed a round sentiment!!!

Well, after spending most of the afternoon looking for a round sentiment on the net for my card (wasted half my day for nothing really - once I'm on this bl**dy computer I can't get off it), I ended up improvising! So here it is, my card for Sketch Saturday (#34 fab sketch this week)...

A little close up of the flowers, unfortunately I can't take credit for making then, my friend brought them over from Romania! They're lovely but I only have a few, shame!

I used:

* Tilda image (RAK - thank you) coloured with w/c pencils
* Sentiment stamp Studio G
* Papers K & Co
* Nestabilities Circles
* Buttons, lace, flowers & ribbon from stash

Thanks girls for the offers of round sentiments, I'll try to do 'em justice on my future creations!

It's Snowing!!!

Hello All! I'm back (if only briefly today) after the Holiday season, but start 2009 with flu, sinusitis and a gastric bug! Hurray! Never mind, I've got a carrier bag of medication to take from the doctor so hopefully it'll put me right. I hope you're all fighting fit, and raring to get on with some crafting!

I made this little card for my friend's Birthday last week, just thought I'd share it with you hoping it might bring us a bit of sunshine as it's snowing over here! Another Tilda card (I got loads of new stamps for Christmas including Tildas, Penny Black, Sugar Nellie...) As soon as I'm feeling better I'll do some cards with them. Promise...

Thanks for all the lovely New Year wishes I've received, and all the best for 2009!

Merry Christmas!

Phew!!! The vegetables are peeled and sliced, the turkey is thawing and the presents are under the tree! It's time to relax and get ready for Santa making his rounds and dropping a few surprises down the chimney! It's hard work this Christmas lark, but I'm spending Christmas with my family so I think all the hard work will be worthwhile! Hence the reason I haven't been blogging, or crafting much! I did do a Christmas Market last Saturday in the town where I live, selling my cards to the Frenchies. It was pretty quiet but I was pleased with the overall result! I had some lovely comments too! Anyway, here's a little card that I did for the market...

I just love this little Tilda image, she's so cute! I coloured her with Distress Inks, papers are from Papermania, Sentiment from Woodware. The rest is from my ever increasing stash! I'm gonna enter this card for Cute Card Thursday Challenge as there is an open theme until Jan 8th.

Well, I'd just like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas! Thanks for all your support and comments since I started my blog earlier in the year! Take care and have a great Christmas!

One of those days!

Ok I did the early shift at work this morning and when I came back around 9am (I get a break in between shifts) I parked my car, as usual outside my house. I was thinking about making myself a nice cuppa and hadn't even had the time to get out of the car when I heard ***BANG*** as a huge lorry went past, taking my wing mirror with it!!! One of the side doors on the lorry's trailer hadn't been shut properly and was swinging around as the driver was happily driving along. Just as well I was still in the car as it might have been my head that got whipped off! Anyway, the driver had to stop 'cos of the door, so we exchanged details and his company is footing the bill (I'm bl**dy sure 'cos didn't fancy paying the 100 euros for a wing mirror). I'm just glad it was the car and not me that got bashed! Then after that I went back to work and lets just say it wasn't the best day! Roll on the weekend!

On a nicer note I thought I'd share my latest card with you. Yesterday was my friend's birthday, so here's the little card I made for her! I've used the sketch by Donna on the Magnolia vs Stampavie challenge blog. The Tilda image was kindly sent to me as a RAK, isn't she cute?! She's coloured with Distress inks and w/c pencils.

I've took a couple of detail pics too, so you can see a bit closer up, I love the sentiment (a rub-on from Papermania), it says it all! The grosgrain ribbon is from Poppicrafts, the little gems, lace, heart charm and safety pin are from my stash. The paper is from Clover, I've had this in my stash for ages!

Thanks for looking, hope you had a better day than me xx

Sketch Saturday

Hiya! Just a quick post as I've done a card for the fab sketch on Sketch Saturday this week! First time I've done a card for this challenge, but as I like sketches thought I'd give it a go! I've gone for a Christmas theme as can't do enough cards for Christmas, it's done using one of my cute Tilda images. Again Distress Inks to colour, Dovecraft DP, snowflakes were from a local euro shop (like pound shop only euro lol) on a long string which I cut off! What you have to do when you live in the middle of nowhere with few shops! Sentiment is a sticker I had leftover from last year, Papermania. Rest is from stash!

Be back later in the week, bye for now x

Papertake Weekly Challenge

I had the urge to make a card (now there's a surprise), so I found this week's sketch on Papertake Weekly Challenge which is by Dawny, and here is my take on this fab sketch...

I just got the little wooden flowers (bottom left of card) today and had to use them so this kinda gave me a starting point. The image is a cutie Tilda from Magnolia, I love these stamps but they're gonna ruin me (well it's been my o/h that's buying them), so I'll have to make a zillion cards to justify all the recent purchases!

I also used:
- Tilda stamp of course
- Distress Inks (I love the colours and effects they give)
- DP Papermania Nostalgia Warm Collection
- Bazzil Card (Rust)
- Sentiment was improvised with a stamp and sticker
- Buttons from stash

Thanks for visiting ;o)

Finally...a couple of new cards!

Ok, I admit it, I've been a bad blogger recently. I just haven't had much time to craft, and then of course I messed up my blog etc (won't bore you with all the details). I've missed visiting all your blogs so seeing as the weather has been rubbish today, I finally had time to get in a bit of crafting! It seems like ages since I did a card! So now I have something to put on my blog! It took me ages to find some inspiration for my cards, I must be out of practice. The first one is for the New Magnolia Vs Stampavie Blog, it's a sketch which is cool! I've used one of my new Tildas, Nostalgia Warm paper pack from Papermania...

I coloured the image using Distress Inks, but I put some sparkly paint on it too. You can just about make it out on the detail pic...

The second card is for Friday Sketchers blog, sketch #26 by Jacqueline. The image is a RAK, it's from Sugar Nellie. Rest is from stash. I don't do very many bright cards, I'm not sure about this one, maybe just a bit too much colour for me...

Thanks for being patient, I know my blog hasn't been very interesting lately!

Tilda Challenge with another New Tilda

I thought I'd have a go at the Tilda & Co Challenge seeing as I've got a few new Tildas recently. This little Tilda was another surprise from my hubby, he'd better be careful as I might start getting used to these surprises lol! The sketch I followed is from last Sunday. I used my Distress Inks to colour her, which I really love now! The dp is Paper Mania Nostalgia Warm Collection, Swirl stamp is Inkadinkado, sentiment stamp is Woodware.

As I'm typing this post I have a snoring little cat sleeping on my lap, Réglisse - bless him! My hubby calls him my Crafter's Companion (he's seen Sara from CC on TV)!

Have a relaxing weekend, thanks for popping by x

More New Tildas!

Well I have to say I'm a fan of Magnolia stamps, although I only had ONE until last week! My hubby had done a bit of online shopping, and surprised me with FIVE new Tildas! Whey Hey! So this is Tilda chosen by my o/h, his taste's not bad for a man! No offence to any men reading this! I'll have to get some "scenery" stamps from Magnolia to compliment my Tildas now! Anyway, I made this little wallet card for my friend Tracy, and put in a few Tildas etc. I coloured the image with distress inks, I've only just discovered this technique but find it gives really nice results. The paper is from a Paper Mania paper pack. The words are embossed on my Cuttlebug, using the "You" embossing folder. I'm gonna do some more cards with this image, she'll come in handy for some Christmas cards!

The second card is for another friend who's been having a few worries recently, so this was just to say I was thinking of her! The stamp was again chosen by my o/h, she's adorable! I coloured her with distress inks again. The sentiment is from a See D's Christmas set.
