Snow Scene and Satellites

Hi everyone! Not a lot of crafting going on for me at the minute... but here's a little card I did with a cute Mimi stamp (Penny Black) that i won before Christmas (thank you Penny Black & more @ Allsorts). This is from a T for Transparent set called Mimi's Christmas... you can find it at The Glitter Pot HERE, and I have to say it's just adorable! Even the little presents I used for the background are on this set, so you can do your own background paper too! And the sentiment is from the same set! I used my Promarkers and Flexmarkers to colour, and simply added a little snowflake for detail...

Right, now I have to warn you I have just calmed myself down after getting a bit of a shock... nothing nasty but the price I've just had to pay for my satellite dish to be re-positioned! The company that did it are only a few miles from our house... it took the man 10 minutes MAX to get his ladder off the van, go up his ladder, and realign the dish... there were no parts involved so the price was for call out and labour ONLY (a few miles and 10 minutes labour), and they were coming anyway to give me a quote for another, bigger job. I couldn't believe it when they charged me 70€ !!! I nearly choked! I made it clear that I wasn't happy but I still had to pay the bill! Flippin' heck, I think I'll buy myself a ladder and a little machine off Amazon for setting satellite dishes and go into business!!! I'll make a bomb! One of the excuses they gave me was that they have to go on the roof and risk their lives... urm yes but that's their choice, if they didn't want to do that they should have been a nursery nurse or something! Roofers go on roofs and "risk their lives" but they don't charge 70€ for a 10 minute job!

The moral of the story is always get a quote before! I have learnt the hard way!

Firstly, GORGEOUS card hunny, love how you have put all this together (think I may have to get me that set)! Secondly, been there! When we had our bits and pieces around the roofline replaced, the scaffolders managed to whack the dish (despite dire warnings). We didn't discover this until the scaffolding had been removed as we thought the lack of signal was because of the scaffolding. TV aerial man duly arrived (only 5 mile journey), here 5 mins, no ladder involved, £40 thank you very much. And would the scaffolders accept responsibility, would they heck as like. Like you, I think I'm in the wrong job! It also entitles you to be as rude as you like apparently. Grrrr. Frostytoes UK hugs, Sxxx

Love the fact that someone else is still making Christmas cards. I made such a cock-up last years by waiting, determined that won't happen this year. Thanks for joining us over at I ♥ ProMarkers this week, please come back agin soon.

Gorgeous fabulous card shug loving the awesome image.

As for the satelite dude we had probs with our sky box & they wanted to charge £40 call out then what ever on top it was to fix the box so we asked them put us thru to cancellations. When there we were asked why we were leaving so we told them it was cus we pay enough to sky every month & now the box isnt working...... I now have a brand new HD box & they came & rewired & gave us a newer dish to go with it.......free of charge lol. It ridiculous what these people charge.

Lotsa hugs Vicky xxx

OMG! that's outrageous about the satellite man! You wouldn't think to get a quote for something that simple would you? Take solace in the fact that your card is so beautiful. Love the purple and your gorgeous colouring. Hope your week is better! keeleyxx
