Papertake Weekly Challenge

I had the urge to make a card (now there's a surprise), so I found this week's sketch on Papertake Weekly Challenge which is by Dawny, and here is my take on this fab sketch...

I just got the little wooden flowers (bottom left of card) today and had to use them so this kinda gave me a starting point. The image is a cutie Tilda from Magnolia, I love these stamps but they're gonna ruin me (well it's been my o/h that's buying them), so I'll have to make a zillion cards to justify all the recent purchases!

I also used:
- Tilda stamp of course
- Distress Inks (I love the colours and effects they give)
- DP Papermania Nostalgia Warm Collection
- Bazzil Card (Rust)
- Sentiment was improvised with a stamp and sticker
- Buttons from stash

Thanks for visiting ;o)

Cool Blues for Christmas

Back in September I won some scrapbooking paper on Friday Sketchers, and after a long wait it finally arrived from a Norwegian company called 3ndypapir. All I can say is it was worth the wait! The paper is gorgeous and really good quality, double-sided and very thick too! So I just had to use one of the winter designs to make a little card (it was a shame to cut it, it's so nice) for this week's Penny Black Saturday Challenge. The challenge was a bit tricky for me as you can only use a Penny Black sentiment, and I don't have many (I have 2 to be precise)! So I went for a Christmas theme...

I used:
- Sentiment from Penny Black Holly Day Critters clear set
- Paper from 3ndypapir.no
- Ribbon, snowflakes, gems from stash

The second blue card I made is for Cute Card Thursday, where the brief is Angels and Fairies. I didn't want to do a Tilda card, I thought a change was in order so I dug deep and found some See D's Christmas stamps to do this card. It's been a while since I used these stamps...

I used:
- See D's Magical Christmas Set (for the background, angel and sentiment)
- Angel Hair (you can just see behind the background)
- Glitter glue on angel
- Rest from stash

I've put ribbon on both cards, I was in a ribbon and blues mood last night!

New Sugar Nellie!

What a miserable day it is today in France! Everyone keeps saying to me "it must remind you of England", obviously as the english weather has a reputation for being rotten over here! What can I say, it's November so we can hardly expect 30°c and glorious sunshine! Never mind, just the kind of weather to stay indoors, nice and cosy, doing a bit of crafting!

Here's a little card I did for the Spoonfull of Sugar Challange 24, which is a sketch from Trina. I like the sketch as it's not often we see tall cards used for sketches, most are square! I used my new Sugar Nellie (got a few from Funky Kits this week), another cutie from Elizabeth Bell. Most of what I used is from my stash, the distressed look on the card was done using pigment inks, I used distress inks to colour the image.

Thanks for taking a peek, have a fab weekend!

For Daniel!

I've made this little card for Daniel's Birthday, he'll be eleven on the 7th November. Daniel is Claire's son; she asked on her blog if anyone would be interested in sending a card to Daniel. He has a mild form of autism and therefore finds it difficult to socialise with other children. So naturally I agreed to do a card for Daniel so here it is...

The image is one from Sugar Nellie, I coloured it with w/c pencils. Joyeux Anniversaire stamp is from a local shop (bargain for 1 euro), "Daniel" is hand written.

I'm going to pop off to the post office now to get it sent to Daniel! Happy Birthday Daniel!

Finally...a couple of new cards!

Ok, I admit it, I've been a bad blogger recently. I just haven't had much time to craft, and then of course I messed up my blog etc (won't bore you with all the details). I've missed visiting all your blogs so seeing as the weather has been rubbish today, I finally had time to get in a bit of crafting! It seems like ages since I did a card! So now I have something to put on my blog! It took me ages to find some inspiration for my cards, I must be out of practice. The first one is for the New Magnolia Vs Stampavie Blog, it's a sketch which is cool! I've used one of my new Tildas, Nostalgia Warm paper pack from Papermania...

I coloured the image using Distress Inks, but I put some sparkly paint on it too. You can just about make it out on the detail pic...

The second card is for Friday Sketchers blog, sketch #26 by Jacqueline. The image is a RAK, it's from Sugar Nellie. Rest is from stash. I don't do very many bright cards, I'm not sure about this one, maybe just a bit too much colour for me...

Thanks for being patient, I know my blog hasn't been very interesting lately!

A Nightmare with my blog!

I've changed everything, lost half of it and don't like most of it! I give up!!! Well for today at least! I've wasted a couple of hours trying to change my blog background etc and so for the time being I'm leaving it plain! I can't decide what to do with it and as I've got LOADS to do (no housework's been done either) it's gonna have to wait! Sorry!

New Look Blog but NO Crafting!

It's Halloween night and as I've had NO (yep you heard right) Trick or Treating going on I decided to have a bit play with my blog. I had started to get bored with the look of my blog and wanted to change the header too, even though I adored the little kitten on it (he's hiding in the sidebar for a bit). So I went for a bit of a colourful combination seeing as the gloom of winter is fast approaching; not sure if I like it all that much, haven't decided yet. Anyway, it's a change, for the time being.

On the crafting/cardmaking front, I haven't done any cards for a few days (a miracle for me), I've been really busy at work and have been to Paris for a few days (work not pleasure - sob, sob...) so just haven't had the energy or creativity to do a card. I'm gonna have to get on with one tomorrow though as I'm invited to a 25th Birthday party, betta get my thinking cap on! I'll try to be back soon with the card!
