Cupcake Craft Challenge 131 - Anything But Square

Today is my Dad's 60th Birthday, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD! Here is the card I made for him...

Ok, so the challenge at Cupcake Craft Challenge this week chosen by Delphine is 'Anything but Square'! Now, as I do LOTS of square cards this was a bit of an effort for me but I have to say I'm pretty pleased with the outcome... check out a few close up's...

I've used digi images from Bugaboo Stamps, aren't the SOOOO cute?! They're coloured with Promarkers, no shading though just plain old colouring. I did the sentiments on the PC... took me a while to think what to write without being too cheeky! Finally the papers are from an old Papermania 8x8 pad, which comes in handy for male themed cards!

I'm entering my card for the challenges at:
Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - You've Been Framed (add a frame)

Ok, over at Cupcake we have two fab sponsors this week...

Our first sponsor is Lily of the Valley

Their shop is full of the cutest stamped images and one lucky winner...chosen at random...will win a £10 gift certificate

Our Icing on the Cupcake sponsor for February is:

Crafts U Love are offering one lucky winner, chosen at random, a £15 Gift Voucher to spend in store.

A Scrap Affair

Hi all! Well, I have to say I have been MIA a little lately, I went away for a long weekend break (retail therapy in the UK) with hubby but ended up being really sick, I'm not sure if it was food poisoning or a nasty bug but it had to be something bad to stop me shopping!!! I think hubby was secretly pleased I had no interest in going out and spending money! I actually passed out on the ferry coming back to France, and all those lovely perfumes were waiting for me to go and visit them :( Oh well, I'll have to organise another trip to make up for that one!

I just thought I'd tell you about a new online craft store that's due to open very soon... it's called A Scrap Affair! Nadia, who is setting up the store, asked me if I'd be on her Design Team and I was happy to agree so here's one of my first cards done with one of the images that will be available at The Scrap Affair Store. This little fella is from the 'Friends & Chuck the Rat' series! He's coloured with Promarkers... just one point... I'm using genuine Epson ink in my printer as this is a digi image, and I've found that the Epson ink bleeds when using Promarkers no matter how long I leave it to dry... anyone got any ideas how to fix this, apart from changing ink? The papers are from Stampin' Up.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges...
Aud Sentiments... Trendy Sayings
Colour Create... Fruits (orange, passion fruit, water melon)
Stamptacular Sunday Challenge... SOS (Someone Special... For my friend who sent me a lovely surprise this week)

Well, hubby is watching the rugby, England vs France... so World War 3 might break out soon if we win (come on England)!

We're sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps this week so I've used my lovely freebie from them 'Ava Cupcake'... she's sweet no? Just to surprise you all I've coloured with Promarkers lol and added flowers punched from my Nellie Snellen flower punches! My papers are K & Co and are called 'Sparkly Sweet'... I though they were 'very icecream' coloured! My little sentiment is an old one from Cuddly Buddly. I've added some pearls and gems too, for extra sweetness!

Now should you win this week's challenge, Bugaboo Stamps are giving away 7 digis, WOW! Not forgetting our 'Icing on the Cupcake' sponsor for this month Crafts U Love who are giving away a£15 gift voucher to one lucky winner chosen at random!

Cupcake Craft Challenge 129 - I {heart} you

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hello to all you craft lovers out there! Well, did you get any mushy Valentine's cards? Any marriage proposals? Well whatever, have a Happy Valetine's Day!

Ok, today at Cupcake Craft Challenge it's my turn to choose our theme so to tie in with Valentine's Day I've chosen I {heart} you for this week's challenge, which basically means we want to see HEARTS on your crafty creations! I've made two DT cards for this challenge, I got carried away with the mushyness! My first card (above) is done using a lovely Heather Ellis digi image from the Pure Innocence collection, coloured with Promarkers. The paper is from Wild Rose Studio, and the cute sentiment stamp is from Taylored Expressions. I've added some heart embellishments to finish off!

Challenges I'm entering with my I {heart you} card:
Fab n Funky - Tempting Textures
Passion For Promarkers - Let There Be Love
Stamp Something - Something For Your Valentine

Now onto my second card (below)... as we're sponsored this week at Cupcake by Lori Designs I've made this card using this super cute Ella the Elephant digi, again coloured with Promarkers. The paper is K & Co, heart is from a Sizzix die and the sentiment reads 'Don't forget that I love you more than anything'... I thought it went well with the Elephant theme lol! I've also used some white netting (I'm liking this can you tell lol)... I think it looks sweet with the little charm?! There's a few hearts here again!

Challenges I'm entering with my 'Dont't Forget' card:
Stampin For The Weekend - St Valentine's Day
Creative Card Crew - For A Loved One
The Craft Pad - Hearts

This week you could win a $10 Gift Certificate to spend in the Lori Designs store, and don't forget the Icing on the Cupcake prize which this month is a fab £15 Gift Voucher from Crafts U Love! And not forgetting that you could be in our Top 5! Now the other Cupcakes have put their HEARTS (sorry couldn't resist) into making some super projects for you to feast your eyes on, please pop by and show them some love!

Well I hope you get to spend some quality time with the person you love today!

Cupcake Craft Challenge 128 - Seeing Red

Good morning Cupcake lovers! Hope you all had a lovely weekend! Well the sun is shining here today but personally I'm feeling a little under the weather... one of those dreaded bugs I think! I'm forcing a Lemsip down my throat as I type this... I'm such a wimp with medecin etc!

I've included the red polka dot ribbon and little red heart on my cat card... the cat stamps are from Artemio and the zig zag border is done using a Martha Stewart punch. My flowers are punched using my Nellie Snellen punches. I have to say I'm not really happy with this card, my mojo seems to have disappeared lately! I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

The Creative Cottage Challenge 32 "Words of Love"

I'm late, I'm late!!! A day to be precise! For this fortnight's Creative Cottage Challenge that is! And the worst thing is it's MY turn to set the challenge... sorry! Anyway, this time I've chosen 'Words of Love' as the theme, which means the main feature on your card must be the sentiment/words with a link to Love/Friendship... NO IMAGES ALLOWED (except embellies like flowers etc)! There's two kits of the winner's choice to win this week, and there's loads of lovely kits to choose from!

For my card I've used papers from the Cherry Blossom Paper Pack and flowers & corners from the Cherry Blossom Accessory Set, all available at The Creative Cottage Shop... aren't these just sublime? I LOVE the little cherry blossom flowers! The lovely sentiment is from Hero Arts.

I'm entering my card for the challenge at
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes & Flowers

Hope you can join us this fortnight!
