Best Of British!

Good morning peeps! I'm feeling a slight improvement in my mojo, just as well as this week it's my turn to chose the challenge at Cupcake Craft Challenge... and as 2012 is a special year for us Brits then I thought I'd go with a little photo inspiration and the theme BEST OF BRITSH! Here is my card...
And the photo inspiration (just to give you a little help)...
Take inspiration from the photo... interpret it as you wish but your creation must be obviously linked in someway to good old Blighty! I've used the colours from the teapot picture and taken inspiration from the London landmarks. I used torn paper to create the Union Jack, stamped over with the fabulous Penny Black "London" stamp. I've kept it relatively CAS as I don't want to distract from the London scene, it really is a great stamp! Although I will add it took a while to calculate and tear all the bits of paper for the flag (me and my bright ideas). Here's a close up...
We have two super sponsors this week at Cupcake,  Crafty Emma's Store are offering a £10 Gift Voucher to one lucky winner... and there are some great buys to grab in the online store, and Cupcake Cards & Crafts are giving away a fab paper pack of the winners choice! Now, if you're still stuck for ideas, then pop over to the Cupcake blog, my DT buddies have come up trumps this week with some great creations! Hope you'll join in!

It's Raining, it's Pouring...

Hi everyone! Just sharing this quickie card... I did this in about 10 minutes... it shows as I have very little shading etc on the image and little imagination on the card. Well 10 minutes is not a lot of time to produce a masterpiece, and my mojo is well and truly AWOL! The image is Penny Black. Anyway, I thought it was fitting for this week... it's done nothing but rain! Dull, grey, wet & windy weather doesn't do it for me! On the other hand... my gourmet cuisine AKA Pot Noodle for my lunch does... so off to eat it whilst it's hot! Mmm Monosodium Glutamate... urm this isn't really the healthy option but hey... it's Saturday! Enjoy the (wet) weekend!

Animal Friends

Good morning all!

I'm having a bit of a mental/creative block at the moment, I can't bring myself to craft, or blog, you may have noticed I've been MIA and haven't been around to visit you all lately. I don't want to put a downer on the weekend,  so I won't go into detail, but I've been feeling a bit low recently. Hence my mental and creative block.

Anyway, on a happy note... we have a brand spanking new challenge at Di's Digi Designs Challenge Blog... and I have to say I did manage to rustle up a card for this challenge, it's one of my favourite themes... ANIMAL FRIENDS! I've used the cutest little girl and pony image from Di's Digi Downloads called "Izzy with Pony"... you can find it HERE. We have a fabulous sponsor, Joanna Sheen, who is giving away a £10 Gift Voucher to the lucky challenge winner! I've used Promarkers and Flexmarkers to colour my image, all bought from Joanna Sheen's online store! If you pop over to the challenge blog you can see all the other DT creations... SO CUTE!

Well, that's me... thank you so much for visiting my blog, despite my lack of existance in Blogland at the moment. Take care.

Un petit gâteau, madame?

Hello all! I must apologise as I have been MIA recently and haven't done any crafting or blogging... sorry if you popped by to see my Cupcake card yesterday and were disappointed... anyway here it is...

This week at Cupcake Craft Challenge our theme has been chosen by our lovely Sari Sunshine... who wants us to get 'In the deep end'... meaning you have to use structure and depth in your creations... gesso, glossy accents, glitter snow, corrugated card etc etc! For my card I've gone for a little bit of Ranger crackle accents, then distressed the image with Distress Ink to bring out the cracks more. I've also added glitter to my cupcakes, and foam pads to raise them and the strawberries.

We have two fab sponsors this week, Digital Delights are offering a $5.00 Gift Certificate to spend in their online store, and Sew Sweet are giving away a £10 Gift Voucher to one lucky winner! If you'd like more inspiration, pop by the Cupcake blog to see what all my DT buddies have made this week!

Happy Crafting, the weather is pants so a great excuse to stay home and craft!

Tea for Two

Hello... hope you're all well!

At Cupcake Craft Challenge we have a new challenge for you this week, and my talented teamie Keely has chosen the theme Sewing Box... that means you have to use something you'd find in a sewing box on your creations. For my DT card I've used thread, seam binding and a button... and I've stitched the card with my sewing machine. I went for a soft, pastel look, with pretty lace, pearls and flowers... my mam loved it :)

Here's a little close up of the image... from Lily of the Valley...

Our sponsors at Cupcake this week are Cuddly Buddly, who are giving away a £10 gift voucher to the lucky winner and Simon Says Stamp, who are giving away a $20 gift certificate... fab eh?! Please take the time to pop by the Cupcake blog to take a look at the other DT girls' creations... they've done a super job as usual! If you have a minute to spare, please leave a comment, we appreciate it!

Hugs, Shelly x
